I'm kinda like E.T.

I think that I've mentioned before that the hardest things (not people) I'll have to leave at this house is my flowers and trees. While I was watering the pansies I planted to make my yard more cheerful to buyers, I decided that I am like E.T. and want to take a plant with me to my new home. When we first moved here I ordered some plants off of freetreesandplants.com, the plants are free but you have to pay for shipping and handling. I choose 8 lilac bushes and 2 or 3 columbine plants. Today, (about 5 years later) I have tree lilac bushes that have never bloomed... I keep saying next year maybe... and one columbine plant. Tonight I took out the pansies from one of my red pots and replaced them with my columbine, it hasn't bloomed yet this year and if it survives the transplant then it will be coming along for the ride. Above is a picture of it last year, such a cheerful flower with a tarnished name.

Brigham City

This up coming week is gonna be a duesy, we should be closing on our home this Thursday then we have 72 hrs to be moved out. Which means we will be renting somewhere, and storing our un- necessities at a storage unit near our future house. The future house may be in Brigham City if all goes well and we are actually able to get the contract on the house. We've made our offer and I'm hoping we'll hear back from the bank (who owns the property) early this week. I'm Leary about giving the home anymore advertising because we lost the last property that we I spent a lot of time getting bids for and making arrangements on in Hooper. Its a bummer but I'm getting over it. I even took Makayla to the Kindergarten Round Up at the school there in anticipation that we would be moving to Hooper. After this week we will not have Internet until we move into our future home (I'm guessing a month or so) which means that I'm unsure how in the heck I will be spending my time without Internet or household projects to do. Actually I'm gonna try to potty train Konnor during the transition with all of my "free time".... I hate potty training. If we get the contract before I lose the Internet I'll post pictures of the new place, If not, in a month or so you'll get a visual of it. If your really curious (I always am) its on a .25 acre lot in Brigham City, it is under 100K and has around 1844 or so square feet, you can go look it up on your preferred real estate website. Wish us luck, I really don't want to go house shopping anymore (its not so fun when you have limited funds).

Girls Day Out

Makayla and I took the frontrunner to Salt Lake yesterday to see The Little Mermaid performed by ballet west at the Capitol theater. So here is part of the collection of pictures that we took while in salt lake.

We visited city creek before the ballet and had some lunch at the food court there.
It was as cold as it looks!

So excited for the day!

The Disney store at city creek was quite the highlight, Makayla almost bawled when we had to leave. The store was packed and the line to check out was ridiculous so we didn't purchase anything.

During intermission, this is one of the many faces she pulled for the camera... why do they do that?

Hooper House

What can be more appetizing than orange-yellow sidelights, with mismatched/ broken front porch lights and the original aluminum single pane window? (not to mention the boarded window)
well lets try a desperate looking "screened" back porch... with decorative caution tape
the cheerful entrance to my future salon
But we may have our own cherry tree in the front yard (if that is what this is), and we for sure have a pear tree in the backyard but it has some years to go before its an established tree (its the second tree from the left side pic below kinda looks like twigs coming from the ground)

The best part of the place is the quiet dead end street, and the big .5 acre lot it sits on.
There are two lovely half burnt sheds on the property that I plan on patching up to make one into a chicken coop
and have the other for lawnmower storage.

I also saw this at Down East and think it would be a beautiful addition to the kitchen, It would probably take some convincing for Jared to think so too but I kinda love it.

Let the hoop jumping begin!

I don't know why I blog sometimes, its just going to cut into my time, but its also kinda theriputic so thats probably why. Its an important day, we found out the banks counter offer for the home in Hooper and although its slightly off thier asking price they sure didn't try too hard to make a big adjustment. If I felt like the market was still slow I would be okay with going back and forth with more offers but I want the place too bad to do that so we plan on accepting their counter offer and moving forward with the house. So its really good news, we will have a final destination in this venture and I dont have to painfully look at other homes in less desireable locations. Todays agenda was to notify billers, and utilities of the move. I did all that I could and now Jared will need to do the rest of the billers that under his name (so stupid, don't they know that I was the one who set up the account originally in his name... and would you like to be paid? if so, let me tell you of our address change) sometimes being a wife really doesn't hold much water. Since we will be purchaseing the home under an FHA 203K we will have an extensive number of hoops to jump through and part of that is fixing pieces of the property so that they meet someone elses warm and fuzzy feelings of what a house should or shouldn't have. We have plans on all but gutting the place and making it nice, so I'm not trying to live in filth, but I hate paying someone else to do things that I can perfectly figure out how to do on my own. One thing I don't do is windows and this home has been blessed with some lovely single pane aluminum windows that we will be figuring into the 203k loan part, tomorrow I've got an appointment to get an estimate on windows (and doors) for the place. Were thinking that we will acid wash the cement floor in the basement and re-carpet the whole upstairs. The bathroom will get a new vanity, sink, floors and tub surround (probably tile). The whole house will be de-wallpapered, painted and the popcorn ceiling in both of the upstairs bedrooms will more than likely be removed. So simple right? This isn't including the backdeck that lacks stable stairs and is overall a nice eyesore. Tomorrow I'll have my mom come out with me and we'll create a healthy to-do list of anything I've missed. But hey if we can get through all of financings hoops the rest will be cake! Wish us luck! ps I'm so sorry I can not spell to save my life and I don't have time to doctor what i know is probably spelled wrong.

Thoughts and such

Today we had another showing, the buyers are going back and forth with us right now and so I'm anxiously awaiting for news on the offer tonight. So I had an appointment and still would be around during the showing, so the lady came through with the realitor, then left then she came back with her daughter and told me that I did a great job on this house. I said thank you, I have it all just how I want it and now I'll be moving, She then said that she hopes that the current buyers sale falls through because she wants our place. I love hearing that other people love my home too. It has been 5 and a half years of piecing it all together, and scrimping and saving for the next project on the list and I truely do have it how I envisioned it should be. One way or another we will most likely be able to sell our place. I did get some good news yesterday, it looks like we can qualify for the mortage on the house we have agree'd upon. Its in Hooper and it needs a world of help but I'm so excited for a project and can't wait to place a bid on it. I talked with the nieghbor of the house we like and she gave us more insight to the home and its previous owners. Funny thing is that she not only knows my inlaws, she may have taught my husband in preschool! I have a good feeling about the place and hopefully we can secure it before someone else does. When we start bidding I'll give you more details of the place and possibly pics, but I really don't want to advertise the place until its almost mine!

Moving a whole new frontier

I am a cloud of emotions, If all goes as planned we will need to be move out of our home shortly after April 26th. I think we've found a place that will fit our needs for several years to come, unfortunately with the job change it will take some time and tweeking to get the financing just right. Anyway, I don't even know where to start with packing, its going to be an immense job. any tips or suggestions will certainly be welcome!
