My Helpless Addiction

I'm currently reading the twilight series and am on the third book, thanks to Emily child i can read them all back to back. All of my spare time is spent on these books and my house is falling to shambles without my dedicated care. oh well. When I'm done with the forth I'm gonna have a miserable amount of catching up to do. But I cant seem to make myself stop, in fact I'm convincing Jared at the moment to put Makayla to bed so I can get back to reading. Pathetic. Jared is home till Monday then he'll start his new job, and I may go crazy in the mean time. Tomorrow were going country dancing at Union Station, it will be fun to have a date night. And this is starting to sound like a journal entry so I'm gonna stop now. I should have some cute pictures soon though my moms friend Sharon came by and took a whole bunch of the fam. I'll post them when i get em.

Congrats Jared

Today Jared was offered a new job! I'd be specific but I still can't, but I'm happy he did well at his interview. Fun thing is that we will no longer have to buy the always increasing bus pass for next month (which is going to be $175! in October). Which also means Jared will be closer to home, erasing his 4 hr daily commute and making it a 2 mile bike ride (we'll see how fast he can pedal there!). Hey this also means that we'll be staying in Ogden for longer, he was considering a job in Michigan which would have turned our world upside down. Insurance looks like it will be good and we have lots more options with this new company. The downer is that he wont be making as much and that's why we will have to be more frugal, although with time and Jared's effort he should be making the same amount he is now in a year. So congrats babe, you rarely read this but congrats anyway!
Also today me and my fam said good bye for two years to my brother Zach at the Provo MTC. It was kinda sad, but I'm excited for him and I know that this is where he is supposed to be at this time. How neat I have a Missionary in my family!

frugal on the mind

So things are changing in our life and lately that is all I can think about. I'd be more specific but its the Internet and until its all set in stone I can't divulge. I've been scanning the Internet on how to be incredibly cheap and turns out I'm just about there already. Well there are some things I should work on but for the most part I'm just a cheap person. On a different note my brother is leaving on his mission this coming up week and tomorrow he gives his talk in church on Tuesday he will be set apart and on Wednesday we get to see him off at the Provo mtc. It will be really sad to not see my brother Zach for two years but it will be fun to write him and hear about his experiences. He is going to Cape town S. Africa. Since the Mtc in Johannesburg is full he had a slight change and will be at the Provo Mtc then will leave to his mission. He will be speaking English there, which isn't a bad deal I think.
Now here is where I need you guy's help, this winter money is gonna be tight but in order to not go crazy we all should get together for dinner group or pot luck dinners (I'm not saying we need food) (I'm saying we wont be able to go out for movies and dinner for awhile). so tell me what you think and if you want to be a part!

Ogden Valley Triathlon!

I competed yesterday in my first triathlon. My times were 32.07 for the swim, 2.40 for my transition from the swim to the bike, 49.13 for the bike, 1.46 for the transition from the bike to the run, and 39.17 for the run. making a grand total of 2hrs 5 minutes and 3 seconds. I was expecting to come in between an hr and 45 minutes and 2 hrs and 30 minutes and I did. It was really a fun thing. in My age group 20-24 i came in 13th, in my age group for the women only i came in 5th out of 11. My goal was to beat at least one girl in my age group and I beat 6! The milliseconds (a timing chip company) for some reason didn't get the girls time right for the swim. They had me doing the swim in 17 minutes, but I figured out a way to get the closest correct time and i think i've got it right with 32.07. Anyway, it was a cool experiance and i'll be doing more. I'm super sunburned and my body total hated me the whole day after the race. But i do feel better today. i'll post a couple pictures and if i get some cooler ones i'll post those too.

Happy September all

We have three pear trees in our yard and lately I've been trying new pear recipes so to not let them go to waste another year. I particularly like pears although I've never eaten a ripe "fresh" one until this year. I'm at the moment drying a tray and a half of them to see how they turn out. If any of you would like to come over and can some pears with me, I think it would be fun to have company. My mom says that pear jam is easy to bottle and I even have a recipe for pear butter. I made Spicy Pear cookies that turned out quite good, and i also made a Pear Crumble the other night with my brother and sister. Makayla is playing with a pumpkin that came off its stem too early but makes a good decoration its kinda funny she's rolled it off the table and is now rolling it on the ground. Anyway, Come over and do some good old fashioned canning, we'll see why our parents (my mom particularly) hate canning so much!
