The Drive in and Golf

So last night we couldn't find a babysitter for Makayla so we decided to take her on a date with us. I told Jared he had to pick something for our date so he decided to make it a "suprise". So we drove out to burger bar in roy and i'm like were eating we just ate and I'm not hungry (ungrateful i know). I ruined his suprise and we decided to drive around and think of a new idea and I said that we should go to the drive in. We first went to Carls Jr. for Jareds food (cuz you dont have to wait an eternity for your food there) then I went into Jamba Juice and got a smoothy cuz i really wasn't hungry. Then we went to Target and got lots of treats and snacks and a yogurt for Makayla cuz we didn't pack her food. Off to the Drive in we went and it was early like 7 early and we had to wait till dark (duh i know) We went to the screen that was showing Iron Man and Drillbit Taylor. One of Jareds friends from institute was there with her husband and I think her name was Jessica and his was Adam but you cant quote me on that anyway... We played a game with them that is kinda like speed only you can have more players, again my memory really isn't in its prime, and I dont remember the name of it but i think it started with an s. So after they totally blew us out of the water and won we went back to the car and set up shop for the movie. Makayla was not interested in watching Iron man at all but she was interested in our drink straws and candy... She was so tired and screamed until she finally fell asleep and we layed her down on the back seat of the car. Jared had seen Iron Man and I was very sckeptical cuz not all comic movies turn out good ie. spiderman and hulk (lame). But I actually really liked Iron Man they did a good job on it so kudos to whoever made the film. Well cuz were so smart, we forgot to turn on the car inbetween films and remembered toward the end of drillbit taylor. Our car battery died and I was super pissed and stressed,so i said some stuff and made Jared mad, he told me on his way out to find help that he would "never take me on a date again". And I told him where to go. But dont worry were amazing at making everything a fight so since we've been married for over 2 years its safe to say we are pro's, the real trick is to get over it and forget, that we are getting better at but are not pro's at. (friends already know this). So when he came back, he was the bigger person and apologized and I said I was sorry too and were friends again. The nice people next to us gave us a jump and saved us from having to call you good people at 1:30 in the morning to bale us out. Wow i didn't think it would turn out to be a journal entry sorry guys. ANYWAY today I went Golfing for the first time in my life and it was at the golf course right by the drive in, again i dont remember the name. We didn't keep score (i cant count that high) but I had fun, It was a busy day and i was rushed by Jared but when we are super rich i think we will go again! (this time we had a babysitter so poor makayla wasn't dragged along)

Makayla has been a picky eater and I finally gave up and let her have the spoon cuz that is what she reallly wanted. She managed to blink in all the pictures with a flash. She got herself stuck in her exersaucer and we thought it was funny so I took some pics for memories.

Ogden Marathon

I ran in the Ogden Marathon on a team called generations I didn't know anyone on my team which made it interesting. My leg of the race was the 5 miles down the canyon starting from The Oaks Restraunt and ending right before dinosaur park. I was freaking amazing and ran it in alittle over 36 minutes! I usually hate pictures of me running but I dont have anyone to really impress so it doesnt matter anymore! (at least I dont look too much like an old lady running in this pic) In case your wondering I have a package of vanilla GUE in my hand, not a bad flavor, the last years that I have ran it I got the yucky coffee flavored kind.

California Vacation

We visited Jared's brother in Cathedral City (right next to palm springs) this February and were there for a week. The weather was perfect and it was great to escape all of the Utah snow. While we were down there we visited the Aquarium of the Pacific, Hollywood Blvd, and took our own tour of Palm Springs. We rode a puddle jumper down to the long beach airport and rented a brand new red Mazda which had 9 miles on it when we got it and when we took it back it had close to 900 miles! We loved the Aquarium of the Pacific and will go back again I'm sure. Hollywood was way ghetto, there was one nice place with a lot of strip malls and the rest was scary... It made Ogden look like a well maintained playground. Makayla was 5 months old at the time and enjoyed us packing her around everywhere. She is such a good baby. We loved staying at Carl and Susan's beautiful house and they were so hospitable.

Makayla

Makayla is 8 and a half months old and getting more and more mobil as the days go by! Tonight I've been spending my time baby proofing our home. She is able to crawl forward now and I am her new shadow, hopefully I can keep up with this job. Her hair is finally coming in and is a lovely shade of light brown, She has dark blue eyes and they just might stay that way only time will tell. I kinda feel like I am writing an ad for her but believe me she is not for sale! She can shake her head no but has no idea what it means yet, we get a kick out of asking her random questions. She is my baby alive, (remember those?) in other words she is my doll and I love dressing her up and showing her off. Most of the time she has more style and looks better than I do. Being a mom is the best job ever and I love every minute of it. Here is some recent pics...

THE FAMILY

I guess to start I will tell you alittle about our little family... Jared and I met the end of June in 2005 and had our first date on my birthday July 8th of that year. We decided we liked eachother and were marrried a couple of days shy of 6 months together on January 4 of 2006. We lived in the Weber State student housing apartments at for 6 months, then purchased a home in Ogden that we have lived in ever since. The home is over 100 years old and has a crazy history but I wont get into that! We had a baby last August and named her Makayla, she is our pride and joy. Well that is alittle about us!
