last night i went to the longest concert ever... it was 4 hrs long!!! My Aunt Rachel got the younger girls tickets and needed someone older to go along and so i got to go. We actually had really good seats they were on the floor just 10 rows back and all in all it was fun except for the waiting in between bands here are some pics from the show.

couple of suits

So my cute friend Carrie asked if i wanted to make a couple of suits to sell at the tanning salon/boutique that she works at, and I thought that would be something fun to do so I've made two suits. If they sell i'll get the chance to perhaps make some more suits with different patterned fabrics and styles and kinda go from there. So here is a picture of the 2 suits i made, i'm gonna make some cute tags for them tonight but i need to come up with a fun name for this little swim line.

Yesterday I made a pattern and finnished sewing my swimsuit, it hasn't been water tested yet and i'm hoping that it will stay put together when it does get water tested.. but here are the pics of my swimsuit. oh ya and in total i spent 18 dollars to make it, i bought sizzors, measuring tape

and some elastic from the dollar store.

these were taken last sunday and i just love how perfect makayla is when she is sleeping. I'm hoping to add some out of doors, enjoying the sun pictures here soon cuz i'm tired of being inside.

well i'm seriously going to sew my own swim suit this year, i just ordered the fabric from fabric.com and with shipping it cost me a grand total of $15.72. i found a free pattern from burdastyle.com that with alittle tweeking i may use it for the suit but i think i will be creating my own pattern based on the swimsuit that i liked most, i also have a tube top that i can get a basic pattern from that will help quite a bit. so here is a picture of the fabric i just bought and i'm going to make my suit similar to the pink pattern with checkers on the post below

i hope it will turn out great, it will definately be a learning experience. If i get the hang of it i may buy more fabric and make several suits for this summer!

spring fever

today i've been looking at swimwear online and i found several cute tankinis that would be really fun to own. So if you have spring fever also and want to check out some modest cute suits check out these websites. personally i'm going to price out how much it would be to buy the fabric and a pattern and sew my own just cuz i cant justify at the moment spending 54 dollars on just a top. hey the garden is filled and ready for seeds but it's too cold yet for planting but maybe next month i can begin. Since our life changes weekly i thought i would update you on our "new future" plans. Jared took the Police officer selection test a couple weeks ago and he passed with a 93%, so we were really happy that he did so well. So now Jared wants to be a police officer, hes applied to be a corrections officer at box elder county but as of right now they are not hiring. Davis isn't accepting applications and neither is Weber, Davis is hiring for the Sheriff/ paramedic position but he has to have his Paramedic certificate in order to apply for that position. Instead of sitting around he is going to begin schooling again this time to get his Paramedic certificate but it will be baby steps and he'll do what he can to get all of the prerequisites out of the way. So for starters he will be taking a math class and possibly a medical terminology class at the OWATC. So my poor overworked husband will be even more so but its certainly for the better.

Makayla is doing good except for i think she has some outdoor allergies and since it was so dusty 2 days ago she is trying to get over it. We've been watching alot of disney movies lately and she is still very picky about what she wants to watch but i'm trying to give her alittle variety. heres
